Waning Lugs = Party Time!

As the 2007 harvest winds down, the sight of lugs -- those ubiquitous plastic containers used to hold harvested grape clusters -- begins to wane throughout the Edna Valley, and that can only mean one thing: Party time!

The SLO Vintners Association's annual Harvest Celebration is set for November 2 - 4, with the grandtasting on Saturday, November 3rd from 1 - 5 p.m., at the Avila Beach Golf Resort. There will be live jazz with San Luis Jazz, food and wine from over 30 different restaurants and wineries, plus live and silent auctions.

Individual winery events include:

  • Salisbury Vineyards Harvest Celebration Open House: Experience the passion of Pinot Noir in another time and place. Join Salisbury Vineyards for their biannual "Hair of the Dawg with a French Twist Breakfast” on Sunday, November 4 from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
